Cultural Landmarks Preserved with 3D Scanning & Printing

After reaching out to a number of temples and shrines, researchers at Chiba University in Japan are now leveraging 3D scanning and printing technology to preserve ancient Buddhist statues. In addition to repairs and restoration, the digital files are also used to print miniatures for tourists. How’s that for honoring both the past and the future?
