Everyone talks about the future. These days you hear things like, “Next thing you know we’ll be able to print human organs.”
We’re already there.
Orgnaovo introduced their ExVive Human Liver in 2016. Now their ExVive Human Kidney has joined the lineup. Before you get all excited, these innovations are not for human transplant. They’re designed for pharmacological research, allowing scientists to study the impact that drugs and other treatments have on the organs.
We’ve got a few (gross understatement) hurdles to clear before putting them in humans.
